Our selection of titles in paperback, hardback, and occasionally out of print used books will keep you reading great classic fiction that you can't easily find in today's mass market, best-seller dominated bookstores. See our Genre sections on the right menu bar for hundreds and hundreds of great reading choices!

Hardboiled Detective: The detective story changed radically during the 1920s and 1930s away from the relatively polite cozy detective formula made famous by Agatha Christie. The hard boiled detective burst on the scene is a rough and tumble way where the detective involved in the action and often blurred the line between the good guys and the criminals. Sam Spade, Race Williams, Phillip Marlowe and Mike Hammer are the prototypical hard boiled detectives that define this genre.

Horror Stories: The pulp era, starting with Weird Tales magazine, revamped the gothic horror story into a much more menacing and terryifing story. Legendary H.P. Lovecraft opened the doors to a dark and dangerous world which continues to influence today's horror fiction.

Noir Fiction: Dark, suspenseful, edge of your seat paranoia made these stories the inspiration and foundation for the famous Film Noir era of movies.

Cozy Detectives: Agatha Christie with Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple along with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes defined the who-dunnit genre.

Fantasy Fiction: From the likes of Lord Dunsany, Clark Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard and Fritz Leiber, classic fantasy fiction is alive and well with these classic novels back in print.

Also, don't miss our literature classics from the 18th, 19th and 20th century.
