1896-1940. An american author famous for The Great Gatsby. Fitzgerald wrote about love, money, and fast living. His novels did not sell as many copies when first published as Fitzgerald expected, but they were lauded by the critics. He wrote 160 short stories, some of which tested his ideas for his novels.

Fitzgerald incorporated many of his personal experiences into his stories. His residence in Europe, his wife's infidelity and illness, and his own alcoholism were interwoven into his works.
